Phoning

I managed to make a hotel room reservation on the phone. Hurray. I don't know why it is always so difficult to start phoning in a new country. It was hell to phone in Sweden at first and I always felt that people treated me like I was a three year old, because I didn't speak the language well. Then after few years it become ordinary to phone anywhere. And I realised that tax-people and such treat everyone like they were idiots, no matter how elegant your language is.

Here everyone is very polite all the time - even on the phone. I don't speak the local language at all - if 'thank you' and 'no problem' doesn't count. Still I managed to make the hotel room reservation. Happy, happy!
