I've Become Shallow

I read Orham Pamuk's 'My Name Is Red'. It was a well written story about long-ago romance and a murder. I noticed I've become less patient to read such books. And I used to think "Crime and Punishment" was light reading.

Shouldn't we become wiser and more profound by the years we live?

OK - being a mum sort of takes away parts of your intellect and brain capasity. I should ponder upon this again when the kid is older and I am back in the business.

I wouldn't worry about it - I think you're doing great. The most intellectually challenging material I could manage to read on our vacation last week was Hello! magazine. Now that's pathetic.
