The kid is coming here tomorrow!!!
At school I've been busy bookbinding. I had never tried that before and it is now officially something I'd love to do more. How will I combine all my favourite things to do into a profession that would also bring money to my household? Time will hopefully tell.
I have a slight feeling of an arriving cold/flu in my bones. Let's hope this one will decide to skip me. I don't want to get sick.

Puffy Eyed Printer
Never watch a sentimental two-out-of-five-stars Hollywood film about mothers, children, and family issues when you happen to be a longer time apart from your own kid, unless you want to have extreamly baggy, puffy, and pink lined eyes the next morning.
Other than that, we did have printing lessons this week after all and it was all very intresting and fun. I am developing a serious urge to make more fine art prints with my own originals.

Why Can't Japan Be Any Closer?
Oh GOD I miss Japan!
I just watched the first part of Karin Muller's documentary 'Japanland' and begin to long to Japan so much that I even had accidental tears in my eyes while enjoying the film.
I miss japanese food, both slow and fast, polite people, odorless elevators (one can sense a strong odor of urea in any given elevator in Metro of Helsinki), wonderful people I met there, places, Tokyo Elvises (didn't know them personally I must add), the beauty of Japanese people and, and, and...
Oh well. I can't do much about that longing right now. I am house-sitting at my friends here in Sweden and I'm also taking care of their old dog - the one I already shared my bed with earlier. He doesn't smell any nicer but he is a good dog and I like him.
Today we were supposed to start a course about certain prints at the local Art University. When we got there, the chap who we expected to teach us told us that his superior had forbidden him to teach us the course, because of god-knows-what. He refused to tell why exactly, but it had something to do with the fact that we are from another faculty. We could clearly see that he wasn't happy with the situation and that he was really sorry about all that.
So, no lectures. What we did? We watched 'Little Ms Sunshine' at school on class mate's computer. Not a bad way to spend a monday afternoon.

Fluffy Cat
Here I am in Sweden again. This time I have stayed at this adorable fluffy cat's home - some people are also involved, but the cat is the only one I am publishing here.
We had a nice course on fine art prints last week at two different studios and next week we'll have three more days of prints. Fun fun fun.
The kid and M have both been sick back home in Finland (a bad cold or a flu). I can't do anything about that from here. I just hope they'll get better soon. Well, they both sounded happy today when we talked on phone, sick or not.
I haven't been sick, other than homesick, but that doesn't count.
Last night there was an opening at the gallery where I sit every now and then. I stood by a counter selling wine to people and drank the same poison myself with my both hands. It was fun and I only had a slight headache this morning.
I talked to lots of people in swenglish, finglish, swennish and findish. I have no idea if anybody understood a word I said, which sometimes can be a good thing.
Today I've been baby-sitting a little princess who lives here with me and the fluffy cat. She has the cutest fairytale voice and she is telling all kinds of fantastic two years old's things with that voice all the time.

Winter Weather
Oh boy, oh boy, it's cold!
But I am not freezing, like I did in Tokyo. I can sit at home without layers and layers of clothes and feel nice & comfortable. Thankgod for the fantastic central heating system!
I remember when I was a kid up in northern Finland, the lowest temperature limit for out door sports at school was -21 °C (-4.36 Fahrenheit). There we skied our faces frozen. I hate skiing.

Tokyo Is Far Away
Here are my friend's dogs in their bag, which I bought in Tokyo when I still lived there, which seems now so long ago.
I wish Tokyo was closer to Northern Europe, so that it would be no big deal to fly there for a long weekend. I wouldn't mind having sushi washed down with Japanese beer and once another piece of sushi wouldn't go down then I'd be heading for two hours of Karaoke and more beer.
Oh well... One can do that in Helsinki too, but it's not the same as in Tokyo.

Happy Birthday Mom
It's nice to be back at home. The kid is fine, though he had a high fever yesterday, which seems to be gone by now.
We are on our way to my mother's birthday party. Congratulations mom!

Going Home
There was a thick fog in a valley below one morning when I woke up. Trams were late that morning and that made me late too. 10 minutes ride took half an hour. All the same, the fog was beautiful.
I will fly home tomorrow morning. I will rush to kid's day care and take him home with me. I am looking forward to that! Oh my god I have missed him!!!
